Our opinion columnist Jenay shares her thoughts on the recent 2010 NBA Draft. Sports from a women's perspective...get with it!
John Wall going to
the Wizards was a Good choice but then again I’m not sure if it was the Right
choice. With Gilbert Arenas coming off last season’s 50 game suspension with
them both being both guards I’m sorry to say, but if they choose to have Wall
play the PG this might be Arenas' replacement. Even though this is a possibility
Wall can also play beside him and run the back court with high scoring. This young man has so much hype building around him let’s hope he can transition and
come in ballin.
But here's more Wizard info that puts a twist on July 1st:
The Chicago Bulls are giving away Kirk Hinrich and there 17th player
to the Wizards thus opening up their roster space and the Funds now to get
Lebron James on July 1st! This would be historic to see James in a
Bulls jersey playing alongside Derrick Rose...and did I even mention that Chris
Bosh is another free agent there looking at that they can give James a #2
scorer? The Bulls to me are looking dangerous this free agency and their
resources are looking pretty strong on the race to James.
The 7th pick, Greg Monroe going to the Pistons
might not have been my choice for them but knowing that they were looking for
someone with toughness and grit that could represent them in a way that you
remember the pistons throughout the last ten years. Greg Monroe is a great
player, don’t get me wrong, but the gritty hardcore toughness isn’t his MO. I’m
pretty sure they would have gone with DeMarcus Cousins but they couldn’t pull a
move that could get him there. I would think that with the #7 pick they had a
big pool of players that fit what they were looking for in toughness...such as
Ed Davis, Patrick Patterson, Cole Aldrich and Kevin Seraphin. The lack of toughness
is Monroe’s downfall but hopefully maybe the Pistons see that he can be molded
and turned into their type of player.
Hmmm we shall see...
I could run on forever but if you have something to say
about the draft say your piece!
