IF YOU DON'T KNOW PLEASE GET HIP. All you Michigan (and everyone else that has a brain) natives know the D is in a dire position, especially with recent budget cuts that have eliminated majority of the police force and educational staff. With that said, and I quote, DETROIT IS ON THE RISE. In the past couple years Detroit has been going through what is known as the Detroit Beautification Project, in which urban framers and artist have taken over unused and abused land and turned it into something beautiful.
I've been saying this for months, but my dreams/thoughts have finally come true. Non-local graffiti artist are starting to finally realize that Detroit is the new epicenter for graffiti. International artist such as Ces, Revok, Steel, Nekst Reyes, Sever, Knows, Smash, Risk, Omens, Klor and Shank (to name a few) have all left their art around the D in the past few weeks. With this recent graffiti migration occurring, we will only be lucky if we are left with the mark of Banksy, Space Invader, Sevnth, or even MBW. All I'm saying is if your complaining about not having anything to do this summer...go explore our beautiful city and see what it has to offer.
*Disclaimer* If you do decide to listen to me and wonder down to the D... lol please know few things, it's like the wild west down where you'll find these art pieces...so definitely know where your at...GPS if needed... don't run out of gas... and lol dont worry about the cops because the small amount of them are actually dealing with real sh*t (being that there are limited police enforcement that means be even more careful..don't be dumb.. because the only people that will be looking for you when you go missing are your mommy and daddy.)
