Okay, if you all know me, you know that I was sold on Wiz until I refunded my decision, once he started making tracks like this one. Unfortunately, I've still yet to figure out if I'm gonna end up liking this dude for the rest of his career. I'm on the fence with him, just like I am with this song. It's dope to me, but something about it turns me away. Possibly the autotune, but then again, I feel like the song would suck more ass if it wasn't in autotune. Eh...

R.T.F. ARTIST SUBMISSION: B. JENKINS - NEED YOUR RIGHT NOW x NOTHING PHONY ABOUT IT x PARTY GIRLS (AUDIO)
Northern Michigan is known for many things such as the beautiful scenery and lakes. But never for rap music. That could change in the near future with the efforts of one of its own.
Brandon Jenkins, a 2008 Benzie Central graduate, has been working very hard to see his longtime dream of being a professional musician become a reality.
Jenkins was destined to become a Native American teenager fallen victim to alcohol and drug abuse. No one in his family had ever graduated from high school. The odds were stacked against him. But then he discovered his passion. The twenty year old fell in love with rap at age 12 after being transfixed by Eminemʼs hit song, “My Name Is.” When
most kids his age were busy playing video games or hanging out with their friends, Jenkins was writing song verses and turning them into raps.
Three years later, Jenkins met independent rapper/producer Astray and began traveling to Saginaw every weekend to work in Astrayʼs studio.
10 months later Jenkins released his first single, “Do It Like Me,” as a sophomore in high school. Newly introduced as “B. Jenkins,” his first album followed two months later. Titled “Right Where I Want To Be,” it sold over 2,000 copies statewide and launched him into local stardom.
Soon Jenkins was performing at the nightclub Streeters in Traverse City, MI. His mom accompanied him and watched from the audience since Jenkins was underage at 17 years old. His success in multiple local hip-hop contests gave him the chance to perform with artists such as The Ying-Yang Twins, Bizarre, MC Breed and Paul Wall.
As a senior year in high school, Jenkins knew he had to focus on his music career full-time. He graduated a semester early with a “B” average and" never looked back.
For the next two years he worked hard writing, recording and selling his brand. Traveling 47,000 miles in 18 months, Jenkins was able to increase his popularity prior to releasing his second album, “Talk of My City.” The albumʼs hit single, “Make a Flick,” debuted on Sirius XM Radio and made a successful run on several Top 40 Michigan radio stations. “Talk of My City” featured songs targeting Jenkinsʼ female fans, changing the demographic of
his audiences enough to lead to the production of another album.
Currently he is working on promoting his new single "We Like Girls That Like To Party", Touring in partnership with the retailer Hot Topic, and auditioning for roles on Tv & Film.

NEWS: WILL SMITH & SONY MAY REMAKE "ANNIE"
Will Smith and Sony are teaming up and exploring ideas about a potential Annie remake, having his daughter, Willow Smith, star in the film. There are also talks about a possible musical collaboration with Jay-Z for the film.
Many people didn't have high hopes for Smith's Karate Kid remake, but that movie made $350 million worldwide. If this Annie remake goes into full effect, do you think it'll do just as well?

LOUIS VUITTON MEN'S SPRING 2011 COLLECTION
Here is the long awaited look into Louis Vuitton's Spring 2011 collection, presented by Paul Helbers. Inspirations from this seasons collection come from the muted colors of the Amish lifestyle with the sensibilities of American creative David Lynch. The capsule was a 'subtle affair with the only real use of color featured in Motel Red which offered a strong juxtaposition amongst more than just color'.
Hit the break to see the entire collection.

NIKE DUNK HIGH - 'PINSTRIPE' (SPRING 2011)
These were first seen last year, but now we have a little more details on this new 'Pinstripe' Nike Dunk High Supreme sneaker. The shoe has a black base on it with white pinstripes throughout the whole shoe. The heel tab is accented in red, white and blue with a silver rooster emblem on it. That gives people reason to believe that the shoe is associated with the French National Team.
These are said to be dropped sometime in Spring 2011.

So I hope you will turn this up and play it over and over as I did once we wrapped it up. Enjoy.

ANNE HATHAWAY & TOM HARDY STAR IN "THE DARK KNIGHT RISES"
The Dark Knight made it to my list of favorite movies when I first saw it, and this news confirmed by Warner Brothers about The Dark Knight Rises was pretty exciting after all of the circulating rumors about who may star and what villains Christopher Nolan would choose.
Anne Hathaway will be playing the role of Selina Kyle, also known as Catwoman; and Tom Hardy, who you may remember from Nolan's Inception, will be playing as the character Bane. Honestly, I was hoping for a better villain; and Anne Hathaway doesn't look intimidating enough to me. However, with The Dark Knight Rises being a Christopher Nolan movie, I still have very high hopes for it.
Also, Christian Bale (who, by the way, won the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture Award for his role in The Fighter at the Golden Globes this year––as deserved) will return to play the role of Batman.
The Dark Knight Rises is expected to be in theaters July 20, 2012.
THE MUSIC FANATIC's FINAL 2010 SPOTLIGHT
My boy Mikey over at TheMusicFanatic.com has been on his grind this past year in bringing out artists to the spotlight. So while 2010 has been wrapped up in the books, Mikey runs through some of his best prospects that has gone through his website for exposure and gives a little end of the year spotlight list for artists to look out for in 2011...
The Classic, an aspiring hip hop, punk rock group from Metro Detroit, bring blunt induced lyrics laced with inspirational ideals backed by beats that are sure to impress. Not only were they the first artist on TMF they are also leading the way into 2011 with their dope noise. The recently have locked down 3 shows in the month of January. The first being January 7th at the Crofoot. Not only did they get these shows, they also made sure to get other TMF artists on the bill and that is greatly appreciated. The Classic are more than just an artist to us, they’re more like allies in the same fight to free music. The group is made up of a trio going by the stage names Serious Black, Engi and Danger. Their music speaks for itself and with the release of this article we are also excited to say that their second album. The Fear - The Fight - The Fame will be available for free download. (https://www.themusicfanatic.
Which brings us to Drew32, another artist from Metro Detroit who has been with us since we were just an idea. Drew32 is another artist on the January 7th show at the Crofoot, so make sure you are there to show some love to both The Classic and Drew who’s music has come such a long way over the years. It has been a treat to watch the young musician hone his craft first hand. Drew is one of the hardest working artists I know. His most recent release “Sunrise on Your Dreams”, available free here https://www.themusicfanatic.
Next on the list is BC or Bericcus Ricks who released “Who Am I” in 2010 available free here, https://www.themusicfanatic.
We would also like to thank MurpH, another artist doing a show with The Classic in East Lansing on January 19th at the Hayloft. MurpH has been working on music, but most importantly he has been working on his Blog RespectThisFresh.com along with Byron Parker and others. I got a chance to catch up with MurpH first hand when he was working on one of the next steps of RTF, and all we can say is stay tuned and you’ll stay fresh. Although we can’t wait to hear more music from MurpH we are happy he keeps TMF in mind with his blog RespectThisFresh.com releasing all of our spotlight articles on it as well! Helping our artist’s gain more exposure!
Our growing community is not limited to hip hop or even Michigan. Holding down Mississippi for us is the one and only Gary Lick (Likko) from Villaruse along with Jason Stockton on Bass and Robert Birdsong drums/other. The “Calvary” as I call him of our musical family, always showing up with support and inspiration when times are grimmest making sure to remind us just what and who we are working for. “The Villa” is making a great deal of progress in our private recording / brainstorming space. "Frolic (Camp) Studio" is allowing us all a much needed breath of fresh air. I was fortunate enough to hear a couple tracks and I am even more eager for their long anticipated release. So stay on the look out for their music release and full feature spotlight in 2011.
Unfortunately we don’t have time to update you on all 87 artists, but we have much love for each and everyone of them. Looking to 2011 we are ambitiously working on TMF 2.0 which will bring a whole new look and user experience to our growing community. The few artists that I have been able to share it with have had nothing but praise and we can’t wait to share it with all of you. Sadly it is just to early in the development cycle to get into specifics but they will be coming soon. Before I end this article, I want to make sure to show some love to Cliff Tux, Yung Good and P.J Ford. All of whom have shown tremendous love and support. Cliff who we did an article on, Yung Good and P.J Ford who will be getting theirs in 2011. Not only have my business partners and the artists been great, but I want to make sure to extend a thank you to family and friends and a special shout out to Brad Baerlocher who rocks a TMF shirt more than anyone, except possibly me. Thanks everyone for your love and support and I can’t wait to repay it in 2011! Let’s go.
