"The manner of giving is worth more than the gift itself..." -Pierre Corneille
The RTK Foundation is back again with yet another event. For our Gift of Giving Holiday Drive, our goal is to provide a happy Holiday to the less fortunate while, at the same time, showing others the satisfaction that can come from the simple gift of giving to the those who aren't as favored as us...
For those who missed out on our RTF Summer Cookout, we made a big announcement regarding the Respect These Kidz Foundatiion. We recently became a Not-For-Profit 501(c)3 Charitable Organization to fulfill our mission of providing guidance to the youth in order to help them live up to their potential with the help of charity drives and family-fun events. With becoming a 501(c)3 any donations (clothing, school supplies, cash donation) given to the RTK Foundation can now be documented and written off on your taxes.
For our the Gift of Giving Holiday Drive , we have organized a giving-tree drive with several local homeless and domestic violence shelters. We will also be putting together "Holiday Packages" for the less fortunate throughout the Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties. The shelters whom we've reached out to will be providing us with a general list of items that they're asking to be donated and on Christmas Eve, we will be delivering all of our contributions to each shelter. Items that you can expect to be requested might be winter clothing (gloves, hats, coats, etc.), personals, non-perishable food items, toys for children, gently used clothing and more. If you wish, we highly encourage you to get a head start by donating the above items.
Along with the giving-tree drive, we are also preparing packages for younger children who might not be fortunate enough to enjoy the Holidays like we have the blessing of doing. The "Holiday Packages" will consist of items for children ranging from toddlers all the way through high schoolers. If you choose to provide a Holiday package for these children, here are a few things that you might want to consider. We would like the packages to consist of a mixture of items that can be useful, helpful, productive, and fun. An example for a preschool age appropriate package would include a coloring book, crayons, Christmas candy (peanut-free), hat and gloves, a small toy of some sort and a children's toothbrush with toothpaste. Nothing excessive, but a solid range of items that could put a smile on one's face. A rectangular tupperware box would be ideal for these items to fit into; if you choose to just donate the items, we will provide a box (each will be decorated with gift wrap). Similar to the giving tree drive, these Holiday packages will also be delivered on Christmas Eve to local churches and foster homes, including our affiliates over at Orchards Children Services.

Any contributions may either be dropped off to the Kiddie Klub in Rochester Hill, MI (2897 Crooks Blvd) or can be picked up at your request.
