A CASE OF THE MONDAYS - CURREN$Y DOES IT AGAIN x LET "THA CARTER IV" BREATHE x R.E.D. MEETS EXPECTATIONS x VMA's RECAP

If you thought I forgot about promising you all our "A Case Of The Mondays" series, you're right.  I almost forgot to post this Monday's recap if it wasn't for the homie Frank.  But don't think for a second I forgot about last week.  The only case you should have been worrying about last week is a case of new RTF tee's delivered to your doorstep; on sale now.

But let's get started with this week's recap.  I have a lot of steam to let off, but I'll start on the upside.

"Oh, You Had Wanted Some More Music? No Problem."
Curren$y got together with DJ Drama to drop yet another piece of work entitled Verde Terrace.  Did we ask for this? No.  Are we upset? How could you be?

With four full musical projects completed in 2011 and two, maybe three more to come drop before the year ends, you can't give me any debate as to why Curren$y isn't the hardest working dude in hip hop.  Are you not entertained? Can we at least listen to the last project before another one drops? Sheesh...
Spitta has been bringing quality and quantity since his onslaught of mixtapes in 2008 and not one bit of material from him has can be called wack.  Ask anybody but a Curren$y hater. But with all of the cosign that Curren$y gets from everybody, he still doesn't get the recognition he deserves.  It's fucked up because his he makes better music than 75% of the game.

I just don't understand how Curren$y is not everybody's favorite rapper by now.  All people do is complain about why their favorite artists need to drop something new, how they're in need of some new music from them and all other forms of dickriding.  Spitta does this consistently, while quietly shitting on the game from the underground. Niggas try to argue about how he doesn't make big hits and isn't on the radio, but what the fuck... I don't wanna hear his good shit overplayed for one, and why would I wanna listen to some radio edited Curren$y in rotation with other music that I tend to avoid?

People don't think when they argue, which leads me to this next subject.  I've been arguing this with a few negros for the past few days and it's to the point where I can't even take them serious...

Just Chill On Wayne Please
Put yourself in Jay-Z's shoes, then look at these pants...
With the leak of Tha Carter IV going almost double platinum within two days from illegal downloads, I'm sure everybody got a chance to hear it.  With that said, I've seen some outrageous online talk from a few brainwashed folks who feel that this seems to be quote on quote the "album of the year". And let me start by saying this; it's good, but it isn't that good. Far from a classic, which you could possibly call projects like C2  and C3.  To me, it was just Sorry 4 The Wait  with original production.

I'm not a hater of Lil Wayne by any stretch, but his fans make me wanna believe that 2012 is a blessing in disguise.  It's sickening to me some of the things that the dickriders of Wayne can even say.  I feel like if Weezy wasn't a favorite rapper of yours when you were in high school, then you had a slight defect to your social status.  But a grown man shouldn't be bar for bar quoting Tha Carter IV  via Twitter and nutting all over my timeline with Lil Wayne praises.

Don't let me get started with "the diss".
"I'll take you out, that's a date nigga..."
I really did just have a whole lot to say about this shot at Hov, but after quoting that line, I think I'll just move onto the next subject.

Everybody loves The Game again...
The Game is having a pretty good week I can see.  I know you all see me poke my little shots at him on here occasionally, but I've been a fan since The Documentary. Throw it on the speakers and I'm pretty sure I might be able to spit 75% or more of the lyrics on each song.  But R.E.D.   is yet another winner from Jayceon  and there hasn't been too many bad reviews on it.  At least not from what I've seen.

Mixtapes and such don't really draw me in when it comes to an artist trying to promote their upcoming album. Give me a leak or two or three, do a video (or at least a web series), find a release date and stick with it and deliver. But leading up to his album, all you seen on the web was Jayceon, either making a fool of himself or making a fool of somebody else.  The tweet that contained the L.A. County Sheriff Department's number could have been the most foolish, but it still got the people to watch.

Dropping "Uncle Otis" wasn't a bad move. A lot of people really needed to hear that, and it showed a lot of haters that he still had it.  "500 Bars" though....eh.  Didn't really need all of that before the album.  But what did need to happen was his bashing of Lil' Bitch on Twitter.  It's about time somebody took initiative in telling this no good motherfucker that he is trash.
Back to the topic. He did a lot to bring many eyes towards him leading up to his album release, and I think it worked.  The Game delivered an album that did contain quite a few all star features, but the turnout didn't result in disappointment. Unlike C4,  the Game switched up subjects, showed his versatility, and basically put together an all around classic that's a lot more than basic rap album.  But then again, what defines a "basic" rap album?
I could think of several...give me yours.

Now Would You Fuck Lady Gaga?
Fuck what you think, Tyler The Creator deserved to win Best New Artist over Big Sean and Wiz Khalifa.  This dude has had a hell of a year as far as coming up in the game.  That's what Wiz get's for selling the fuck out and that's what Big Sean get's for taking so damn long to drop the album.  Who gives a fuck if it's Def Jam's fault, put your foot down lil' nigga!

I didn't get a chance to watch the VMA's live, but I caught bit's and pieces between the TV replay and online rips.
Fuck whatever goes through the mind of Lady Gaga.

And say what you want, you can't tell me Brittney Spears didn't deserve that Video Vanguard VMA award.  I don't know what it really is, but she deserves some kind of tribute because she was killing shit early....and after two kids at 29, I still would.

I was hoping for an all out kind of performance from Jay-Z and Kanye to their "Otis", but newbie's would have probably thought to themselves "What's the hype?", after watching it.  But props to security who grabbed homeboy off of the stage crasher.  If you had DVR, I guarantee you hit rewind because you didn't get a solid glimpse of it the first time.
The highlight of the night had to be Beyonce herself.  Her performance stood out from all of the others and revealing her pregnancy quietly gave her the night, along with Mr. Carter.  No, not Mr. Weezy Carter; things were more awkward for him.  I guess he's gotta kidnap the baby too, huh?

I'm tired y'all, but that's what I get for waiting so late to post this.  Stay tuned into next Monday for the next series for "A Case Of The Monday's".  Hopefully we can get  a consistent time schedule going with this.  Until then, every week hoes.
