"I am the designer and creator Maurice Polk Jr aka Rees. This is actually my second line I had to discontinue my first one due to planning issues. So, I say The Riots has been around since June 2009 when I started my first line with my brother. I just had to rethink my approach and learn a few things. The Riots was created to add a new element to street wear, I kinda got sick of what the major companies were designing, it wasn't hot to me." "The Riots basically stands for sticking by your beliefs. Rioting for what you believe in, not letting anything stop you. The gas mask logo symbolizes protection from the pollution that the world tries to feed you. I put the gas mask on the turtle because turtles are my favorite animal they're dope. Even though the line is titled The Riots it is very positive."
