Dave Doe (born April 2, 1984) was just another kid from the hood struggling to rise above the negativity that surrounded his hometown. Hailing from Detroit, MI he decided to opt out of attending college and join the U.S. Marines instead in 2002.
Serving his country at a young age meeting new people taught him a lot about life. After his discharge from duty he joined a hip hop group in Wilmington, NC called the Hoodphellaz in 2006. With their first single "On Lean" being spun in the local limelight they thought they were going to build a solid buzz but with legal troubles with two of the other members and personal issues with himself, he returned home.
Influenced by the likes of Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, Fabolous, and Royce 5"9, Dave Doe attempted to get back in the music scene as a solo artist in 2009 and started releasing tracks while performing at open mics to build a buzz. Instead of focusing on the bad times he decided to talk about the good times he has had in life mixing it with his street experiences. After little response from the listeners he decided to go behind the scenes promoting other artists to radio and club DJs and created a blog for all the artists in his state of Michigan called ForTheLoveofMI in 2010.
Since then Dave Doe started back writing helping others with their music and figured he himself could do better. He now is releasing his first official single entitled "Still Sippin” which has already gotten a positive response from the fortunate ones who have heard it. Now he is back in the studio recording what he says are "All singles", as he has no current plans to release an entire project until the streets demand it.
