One of our readers did us the favor of putting together an album review for Curren$y's Pilot Talk that dropped on July 13th. The album has been getting great reception, but is it worth the purchase?
Gaddy Mane gives a brief synopsis of the Pilot Talk album...
New Orleans' own Curren$y did NOT fail to deliver to his fans with this classic album. With features from artists such as Snoop Dogg (Seat Change), Mikey Rocks (The Hangover), and Stalley (Address), Curren$y has managed to put together a well-rounded album that is sure to please his old fans, gain new fans and change the minds of some of those non-believers".
Tracks like "The Hangover" ft. Mikey Rocks, which features a more 'up-tempo' pop like beat, is something different from what we are used to hearing from Curren$y. Regardless, it is by far the standout track on the album. The hook of it is well put together; simple yet memorable. The verses compliment the track well ("Scratch off, A.C. on windows up/ New shit playin' what you sayin/ Nathan, dollar signs my only language").
"Address" Ft. Stalley and "Life Under The Scope", are also two standout tracks.
Most of the production on this album came from Ski Beatz with a little help from Mos Def, but in all, this is a well put tother album.
Although it may be a little over-run with features, they don't take away from the vibe and feel of the album.
Overall I'm giving "Pilot Talk" a B+...but hey this is just my opinion,
Buy it, download it, borrow it, whatever...
Give it a listen and check for your self!
