VANS OTW & SPITFIRE: KEEPING THE UNDERGROUND LIT (PREVIEW)

Those who are fans of the Vans Off The Wall collection will enjoy the new Spitfire collection for Fall 2010.  The collaboration with Vans and Spitfire isn't just going to come in the form of shoes, apparel, accessories and etc; they plan to build a skatepark for their motto of "Keep the underground lit." 
Their main purpose for coming together is to bring awareness to the community that skating can make a difference.  The first project that we have with Vans OTW x Spitfire are the three new shoe models; the Era Pro, the brand new AV6 and the Chukka low.


“This project was a no-brainer. Vans and Spitfire share a lot of mutual respect, both have a passion for skateboarding, and don’t hesitate to give back. The goal of this project was to ensure that we contributed to skateboarding in a real way—not just make co-branded product together. The initial meeting focused on that contribution—how we would support our skaters, our shops, and the skate scene itself. “Keeping the Underground Lit” was the headline, something that both brands believe in. Cardiel and Van Engelen will work with the Spitfire crew to design and build two new street spots, one in Sacto and one in LA. The product capsule will support the effort, and includes footwear and apparel that is clean and timeless, tied together with the collab logo and a basic color palette. Cardiel hooks up the Era Pro, Van Engelen colors up the AV6, and we added a Chukka Low for the team to finish it off. The apparel and accessories are all classic pieces that we agreed would work well. Stay tuned—we are already talking about Round 2 …”
