BIO
Inspired by the likes of emcees such as Lloyd Banks, Joe Budden, Eminem, and Fabolous, JL was born Jordan Scott in Charleston, South Carolina, on August 14th, 1986. JL began his jouney into the music industry at the age of 16. What had started out as a hobby, quickly turned into something he became truly passionate about. Music became an escape and a way for JL to vent his frustrations and feelings. Driven by the loss of loved ones and from bein' underestimated in many aspects of life JL is determined more than ever to be recognized as a great lyricist. Some emcees want to be recognized as the best but JL just wants to be recognized for what he is and that is a lyricist.
Throughout the years of pursuin' a music career the emcee has been signed to an independent record label, inked a deal with a ringtone company, and was once in contact with Island Def Jam. Despite the numerous opportunities, some of which turned out not to be as authentic as others, failed to yield any kind of success for the emcee. Now on the brink of releasin' his latest project, JL is on a mission to prove that he can stand on his own amongst the great lyricists in the game and then some.
